Wind wand on New Plymouth 12.7km award-winning Coastal Walkway, Taranaki Region, North Island, New Zealand. Standing 48 metres tall the Wind Wand is a New Plymouth icon. Designed by Len Lye, the kinetic sculpture moves gently in the wind and lights up at night. It is situated near the mouth of the Huatoki River and opposite Puke Ariki museum. It is a must see on a visit to New Plymouth and is a great place to start or finish
